EACH TILE HAS BEEN HAND PAINTED. THE GOLDEN DECORATIVE FRAMES ARE MADE OF PLASTIC. THEY ARE IN GOOD CONDITION FOR THERE AGE (over 60 years old). I DO HAVE SOME GLASS TILES THAT HAVE NO FRAME ALSO !
